Shopping is a new jagged post-punk dance basket from MÏLK Records. Their single, In Other Words, puts my neck in it’s usual nervously anxious angle and contradictorily puts my ankles into flexed and rhythm ridden multi-postures ready for positive jerk dancing. Shopping skip (as in ‘jump-walk’ rather than ‘leave out’) through an aisle of bouncing bass lines, highly defined melodic guitar jangling, Slits-esque singing and raw drum-spanking, which results in what can only be described as DIY joy. I’m glad to see MÏLK still releasing brilliant things.
In Other Words is currently out on 7″ and available from Rough Trade and at shows.
